    Should goal be college?

I've been away from the site for a long time but when this came to my attention I thought I would reply. All kids are different and level of talent vary greatly however I can give you nearly a quarter of a million different reasons that I would say yes. That's right my daughter is playing D1...

Thanks to All for your guidance

I've been away for some time now but have not forgotten where it started. We owe you all so much for having this site available to those of us who did not have access to quality advise in the beginning. I don't know where my daughter would be right now if I had not stumbled across this site...

    Glove hand

I would agree that the glove arm plays an important roll. It can also be very challenging to get young ones to use it correctly. My swimmer took years but it was a learning curve for both of us to find the cue that would work best for her. There is a little whirl now but several things helped...

    Angular Velocity

So how do you go about teaching a loose arm but still keeping it bent. What type of cue would one use for this.

    New can of Worms

DD has been pitching just over 5 years and has just figured out that by squeezing the ball harder, she is able generate much better spin rates as well as control. I only bring this up because up until now she has thought that she was supposed to just barely hold the ball. There were times when...

    Turning Glove elbow inward rotation

DD had same issue and kept coming back year after year until she was told to point the thumb down on the way up. It helped to keep the glove arm from going to high and also helps to get the shoulders open. On the way down the hand rotates to palm up and her elbow leads in.

    Pocket Radar

Ball coach is easier to use, no learning curve involved. It has proved to be as good as any of the expensive units out there.

News Flash: Rise Balls don't Rise!!!!!

This article is nearly as old as dirt, we need fresh up-to- date stuff if we are going to attack this head on.

    Small colleges - MPH

Rocketech1, I see this quite a bit in our area with the girls who throw hard. All fastballs thrown on angles with the same spin. Stride to the left, stride to the right. It works well at the high school level with most weak hitters. I have never been a fan of this but some people teach it.

No hair left to pull out! Need some advice.

First off you are not alone this happens to most. One thing at a time, move to the next. When the first starts to creep back, nip it in the bud right away. Habits take a long time to break and will find a way back in if you let them. Pick the one that effects her the most and handle it. Most...

is it truely a 1-7 spin or is more of a ...

java, This is awesome and timely as I have been wondering about this as well. DD can get this spin quite easy with finger presure but it doesn't seen to much if anything but drop. So the next question is how / what does she need to do to get the proper spin? She is lefty and I really don't...

    Should pitchers bat?

Crystol, There was a time that I would have sided with your husband but no longer. A kid that can hit is a kid that will play even if they lack in other areas. There is plenty of time to work on both if you "Train Smart" At the higher levels a pitcher has to also be able to handle the mental...

    Backswing or no backswing?

Worked on the cradle for several years. Found that combining the 2, cradle with short back-swing worked out best. DD always had an issue with the ball going down out of the glove first.

shin splints on stride leg ???

Might want to get an x ray to see if there is a stress fracture. Saw this with a young lady a few years ago, not worth the risk to not know for certain

all I can say is wow ...

She is the real deal, saw her in Elgin Ill. last fall, supposed to be going to Mizzuo. She was keeping it down and by the way the ball was tailing, I could see that she had some spin. She looked good, no skip, hop, or leap and was not overly big either. My guess would be that she will learn to...
