She grew up in rural Oklahoma. I am curious as to where, I may have seen her play. Through contacts with dd's organization, may have someone that knows the coach where she is going.
Here high school softball is in the fall, so the girls do not have this problem. The boys howeve, have had this problem a couple of times. The boys play in the same tournaments every year, so the schedule is out in the fall for the spring season. For a couple of years prom was scheduled over...
This is why I buy a hail car from the insurance auction. I get the car for about 1/2 price, and if it gets hit at the ball park, unless it gets glass, no big deal. Take my time over the winter to fix it and sell it, and start all over again in the spring.
I really don't think it matters who covers the bag, just that someone gets there and it looks planned. We practice and have the left fielder cover. With a runner on first, once the ball is down, she is on a sprint to the bag, and is at the bag or really close to the bag by the time the runner...
I am sure they are a small rural school. They just don't have the numbers.
Schools around here have always had full junior high programs.
While things did slow down 3 years ago, we are going even harder than before right now. I cannot get enough qualified people for the project I head up. If...
Which is exactly why I have not talked to the coach. She has been told he has the final say, but if she wants to do the things she wants, she has to convince him to let her, without an attitude or smart mouth. She convinced him to let her run, and the other girls started to get more aggressive...
I am really proud of my daughter, she ran aggressively tonight, and pitched to a 19 - 2 win with 6k's and 3bb. She pitched her game without the catcher knowing what was comming, with my rules of no drop balls with runners on base. She took second on a walk, she took bases like she needed to...
I need help!! It is way worse than I thought it would be. Daughter hasn't batted right handed in over a year, he wants her to bat right, no need to bat left handed. Got in trouble for taking 2nd base on a pitch in the dirt, could have got thrown out catcher caught it clean. She is not to go...
I cannot picture any situation where there would be 'incidental contact' fielding a ground ball. The only other scene is where 3rd base is the protected fielder, but then you should have obstruction on the short stop.
I think the key is to have someone at or near the bag by the time the runner is rounding 2nd. Who it is doesn't matter, just the fact that it is not a free base is enough to hold the runner. As I stated earlier, we use the LF, yes we are exposed to an overthrow, but in about 70 games this year...
Depends on what has been covered in practice. Our LF knows that when a batter bunts with a runner on 1st, it is a race between her and the runner to third. The girls do not know any more than what gets coached in practice.
If the ump doesn't call dead ball, he immeadiatly determined that it was a hit ball.
If it hits your hands or you WHILE swinging it is a dead ball strike.
If it hits your hands or you NOT swinging, out of the strike zone it is a hbp.
