My HS baseball coach was like that... always teasing and running you down.
My Legion coach was the exact opposite... always positive.
I did much better in Legion... it seemed like that was the HS coach's way to 'get to you' and make you perform to show him wrong. Maybe it worked on some guys...
Maybe just a more aggressive approach... swinging more. I have problems with my better hitters (10U also) swinging late... like they decided if it was a ball or strike too late.
One drill is to watch pitches all the way to the backstop even when not swinging.
Yeah, I think a couple of hit batters were definately on purpose... for both teams.

I had the same experienced (warned next word would be tossed) when the ump said he had seen chalk fly up when the ball hit the leftfield chalk line. I calmly told him I didn't think that was possible since the outfield lines were painted. He took it about the same way as the ump in the original...
Exactly... I guess PP doesn't realize the catcher has to throw the ball accurately back to the pitcher and the pitcher has to catch it. Our league is a beginners 10U rec league and they struggle with the basics. I like to teach them correct baserunning too and since that stuff doesn't work in...
