She def has a habit of loading hands at the same time as her bottom half load. And always working on getting that overlap with her pull back and advance. Not sure I understand your first sentence. We have been trying to get her to time the pitcher not the ball. Start her advance at release.
Here is a quick clip of my DDs lesson with Justin Stone yesterday. Thought some might be interested. For reference, she just turned 12 last month. This was her last swing of the hour.
-He moved her elbow up in her stance. She had been elbow down more. Thinking is it will put her closer to a...

My DD has seen Charlie Price there and is going to see Justin Stone this Friday. My DD is younger and needed more of a revamping of her swing. They...
My 12 yo DD is going through the same process. Trying to get more separation from top and bottom half. Trying to understand the 'walking away from the hands'. When it's done correctly the increase in torque and power is amazing. We notice that from front toss and even off the tee. Perfecting it...
This could have been 2009 me that posted this. Lol...That mindset was way too popular in trying to help young kids get their bottom half involved in their swing. Because that's the action people 'thought' was going on.
Totally right on with everything. From her having success up until the pitching got faster to her just reacting. I think the BP at club practice is almost hurting her because she gets reprimanded for swinging at balls and the coaches aren't always the most accurate. Not a gripe with the coaches...
Ok..having trouble following that...I agree with the 'reaction' thing. That is exactly what is happening. You're saying I should just have her swing at everything? At least as a mindset. Then react to not swinging at balls?
So...my daughter has rebuilt her swing over the winter. The sequence was good. She was getting a good scap load.
All is good...off the tee.
Now, trying to transfer this to live pitching it's all falling apart. She isn't getting into any kind of load fast enough and everything ends up way too...
I apologize. I mistakenly overtook this thread. This thread should only pertain to Eric Fs Maddie. Any advice for my DD should be made to

I think she should start the load earlier and slower. Since this load includes knee flexion at this point, yes, the knee flexion should be earlier and should only be happening during the negative move, not during the positive move. While this knee flexion in and of itself doesn't bother me...
In my DDs case it wasn't something that was taught to her. I think it's just a comfort thing. Staying taller helps her stay more relaxed at the start. She WAS taught to coil around her back hip and not sway back laterally. I think this teach may have led to her sinking down a little more than...
