What do you guys do for the outfielders during indoor practice season. That would be Winter for everyone in the balmy climates! Just looking for anything that may be different or maybe put a new twist on what I'm doing now. I do take advantage of some of the time to talk about covering...
I saw this in an email from Marc and it has great timing in regard to my daughters hitting.
"Believe me, I've seen and heard plenty of things in practice facilities over the years that have made me cringe. Some of it is just bad advice (such as get your back elbow up to hitters), while other...
I just thought of a couple questions:
Bretman Could you explain the reasons behind using baseballs and/or a combination of those and a softball for the pocket?
starsnuffer How do you use those ball mallets? Do you just put the mitt on a table and hit it? Or do you put the mitt on...
Hey thanks for the help and advice. I know Bretman knows of what he says. He's done some great work for me on DDs old mitt.
BTW I did liberally apply Nokona glove oil to the mitt before wrapping it.
Check out how I am trying to start the process of breaking in my daughters new catcher's mitt. I have the whiffle ball (12") in the pocket and multiple heavy duty rubber bands. I'm not doing any harm here I hope. ??
I am shopping for a new equipment bag for my DD. She currently has a Mizuno that has a mesh divider inside. It's great for keeping everything inside from falling to the bottom when the bag is hung on the fence. Are there any other makes and models that have this feature? Most web sites do...
In my opinion they should have answered simply yes/ no and bovine/ swine on your question about the wrap material. I bought a few of those bats when my daughter first started playing (10U). Just beware that bat isn't going to last long at all and I found after putting them on a scale that...
Looking to buy a new mitt for 14 YO Discovered this one tonight. If anyone has any experience with it I'd love to hear about it.
Wilson A1000 FPCM 34 Inch Fast Pitch Catcher's Mitt
China USA
Ok I like how those Mizunos look but man it sure seems expensive for a China made mitt (why are they so much more expensive than the GXS53?). Nokonas are still made in the USA?
Thanks
Thanks for the info. I had seen that Mizuno GXS53 online and it was on my "list" but I never found one at a store or sporting goods to handle it. I may swing back that way hearing your thoughts. How tough was the break in period?
I want to get my daughter a solid webbed mitt and the Nokona looks like a very solid piece. Any other gloves I might want to consider before I purchase?
Kinda The Same Boat
We're in a similar situation with a different "twist". DD has chance to switch to a different, less overall skilled team, with a coach who has shown to be an excellent teacher especially in regard to her specific position. I'm confident that after a season with him she...
