Now that softball is over for me, I've gone back to enjoying some of my previous hobbies, as well as starting a new one. Last Sunday, I spent a good chunk of the afternoon cleaning and reorganizing my garage. I still need to find a place to put softball gear, but I'll get that sorted out soon enough. The shop side needs some work, including a shelf on the back wall, a better table for the miter saw and drill press, refining the dust collection system, and trashing the piles of wood from pallets that Maddie cut up and stacked against the wall.

5 bikes and 6 guitars? Who was left out?

BTW, I have a Les Paul Junior original rock and roll guitar. We have been offered a whole lot of money for it but we are keeping it.

Actually, 7 bikes (there are 2 on the floor behind the red bike, between the hanging ones) and 10 guitars/basses (more in the cases on the shelf). I have the intent to sell off some of my music gear, but I haven't done anything about it yet. There's also a drum kit, PA speakers, and a bunch of other music-related stuff packed away in part of the pic you can't see from this POV.

My drums are safely set up in my finished basement. My cars are parked in the garage all year round. I like getting in my car and not roasting/freezing my butt off.

During the summer, I built 2 huge storage racks/shelving for the garage. Both have 3 shelves, 3 feet wide and 6 feet high. I used free wood from the storage containers that our HS new scoreboards were shipped in. I already have 3 store-purchased heavy-duty shelving units. We keep our truck and car in the garage. We also keep my Z345R John Deere Mower in there. That is my baby. I have to mow a lot of grass and I can rock and roll on it. Like Eric, I have a shop area built with a workbench and storage. I also have an area for the trash cans. (If we didn't keep them in the garage, the racoons would have a field day with those trash cans. I have an aerator and my push mower in there as well. Oh, and we have an area where my wife puts her saddle on a saddle horse.

You have your priorities. I have mine. ;)

If I had a finished basement, my garage might look different, but probably still wouldn't have cars in it.

People have 3 car garages around here and never park a car in the garage..and then complain when their car (actually trucks..we are in OK) gets repeatedly broken into..

My Dad always used to say he couldn't understand why people parked their $30K cars in the driveway and stored their $30 crap in the garage. Of course, his garage looks like Fibber McGee's closet, yet he somehow always fits a car in there. He had to grease the sides to get it in there, and the passenger had to get out before he pulled in, or they'd never be able to open the door. When they eventually leave that house, we will need to hire a few dumpsters to get rid of all the stuff. He has a wrench for removing a propellor from a BT-13 that he sold in 1968 on his workbench. There is literally no other use for that wrench, but he still has it just in case... LOL

I am not saying you have crap in there. Heck, I love the drums, so that alone is worth the space.

@pattar, we have the same thing in my neighborhood. Three car garages filled to the brim with everything but cars.
