PVC and Chinese jumprope
That looks good. I’m also thinking about using two tees, which I have. A multifunctional tee that are always with me.

Elastic. It's been a few years since I bought them but if I recall we got a 3 pk for around $7Tatonka
On the rope, do we want the elastic Chinese jumping rope or rope?
Thanks, yeah inexpensive.Elastic. It's been a few years since I bought them but if I recall we got a 3 pk for around $7
Yes they work great! I use two hitting tee’s as the support “poles”Use what is referred to as a Chinese jump rope. It makes like much easier (and safer) on the Catcher as it doesn't cause as much deflection of the ball when it hits vs the string/rope/dowel/foam tubes. It is really easy to set up between whatever you have available like stakes, chairs, cones, etc.. As Shawn mentioned above you want it out front of the plate where the downward move or "break" should begin. The height is up to you but we always tried to put it along the bottom of what we called the window frame or tunnel that every pitch should be coming through. It's pretty easy to track a pitch coming in above the string and then being caught down below that level, your pitcher will see the movement (or lack thereof) and so will the Catcher. Also it's fairly cheap (check Amazon/Walmart).
Using 1" pvc make a basic H pattern base with a tee in the middle to support an upright thats at least 4' tall.Is there a drop ball string target on the market? If not how did make your own, cones, dowel, pvc?
This one in the pic is flat while other I have seen are round. Does it matter on deflection?View attachment 23978
Best part is when you use the closer to a catcher (mom or dad), when a ball hits the rope, it does not deflect it in a different direction. Keeps you from getting hurt.
you can use two at the same time at different planes. Throw ruse above the top rope, change below the bottom rope. Lots of variations
