Contrary to popular belief, the Ghost isn't end loaded; it's a balanced bat. The Ghost is just heavy. About an ounce to an ounce and a half over sticker weight on average. If you wanted a comparable bat with more longevity, you should have went with the Mantra. Same pop, same weighting and much more durable. Wilson products, Demarini and Louisville Sluggers run pretty much true to stickered weight. The reason your DD has lost distance is simply because you took away an ounce to an ounce and a half of mass helping propel the ball. If you want to get that back and plan on staying with the LS, then you'll need to go to a drop 9.

For the Ghosts, the drop 10 and 11 is balanced but is heavier like you mentioned by 1-1.5oz’s. For the drop 8 and 9, they are end-loaded.

For most Louisville bats, they are typically 1oz over labeled weight. The Xeno’s are typically more than 1oz though.

Is this true for both the Ghost Advanced and the Double Barrel?

Sure but my point was you don’t need to go longer to get sufficient plate coverage which sometimes is used as an argument to go with a longer bat...you typically need better hitting mechanics.

It worked for Tony, but he was obviously something of an outlier. That doesn't disprove the concept of a longer bat giving better overall coverage; I could point to plenty of HOF players who swung tree trunks. For a taller hitter, a shorter bat could easily be a detriment when trying to reach something low on the outside corner. You need good mechanics regardless of bat size. For best overall performance, swing the biggest, heaviest bat you can use while maintaining good mechanics.

Tony Gwynn used a 32” bat and had enough plate coverage to allow him to hit .338 for his career.
How about mechanics can make a difference on enough plate coverage!
And even more coverage!

What say ye'? 💬

Ahhh just read your post about mechanics just after posting mine.
💯 think mechanics are the biggest factor on this topic of length.
AND
Could be for different reasons within different mechanics.
To include timing.
