Well I hope you stick around long enough to read that that's one heck of a nice swing your DD has there.

You've taught her well, and it would behoove others to follow your lead. Because that's not just one of the best 12U swings here, but one of the better swings I've seen posted here of other 5-6 years older than her. Well done! 👏🏽👍🏽🤜🏽🤛🏽
He’ll be back…they always come back 😂

They are at the same point … I know the range on the Vladdy swing is shorter. But they get to the same spot, they are both tipping in opposite directions. The tip is nothing more than getting to a good launch position… 2 different styles, as per @FP26
In those two specific clips, you're showing two different timeframes of the "tip and rip" process.

Vladdy is un-tipping, beginning to "rip", and TTB, to begin unloading and swinging the bat (not yet launching it), and Bo is still "tipping" his bat/barrel, and loading, he's yet to start the unloading/swinging, ie "rip" process.

Feel free to do and film that for us.

Do the drill, with the "swing down" hand path, with the barrel coming over the hitter's rear shoulder, and show us how much of a big league barrel path that'll give ya. I'm sure others besides myself would be very interested in seeing that as well.

Yea, I would need to put the ball on the ground if doing it from a chair :ROFLMAO: .. Who would have thought keeping the hands back and swinging the middle and the barrel gets turned correctly..

Nice post James !! Hopefully we get back to old school..

Old school

Mike is on plane and for the whole length through the zone. The HANDS get to the plane of the pitch. With the bat in lag position this allows Mike to be on plane for a long time and have excellent adjustability.

Each of those players bats is going to spend a long time in the path of the pitch. The difference in approach is Mike can use his hands and react where Josh is guessing and hoping to run into one (his words). Josh's stuff does work (Tewks) but it is not HOF. It is not Trout, Bonds, ARod, Gwynn, etc.

@jdint

i like your dds swing. maybe a few things you could clean up.. Early hip extension or posture, there are a multitude of reasons that could be happening. she might not be taking out enough slack so she will use her legs and arms more than she should(drags it a bit). No space maybe.

I would try closing her off a bit w her lower half and keeping her hips and upper (square to the plate) and having her load and stride from there. That creates tension in her middle. Lessening the ROM which can help force transmission so the right body parts are contracting In sync. Right now the hips go, then the middle, then the bat.

or you could try stabilizing the obliques at “load’ which accomplishes the same thing. i think the closed stance is good bc it’s not active, it’s reactive. not nitpicking your work, just a few suggestions to get her more efficient for 14s, when the time comes.
