I stay DD is 15. If it's inside I wait in the car. If it's outside I watch from the car or a chair, but I'm usually checking things on my phone a lot. I do like to get a general feel for what they did and how she did. High School just in the parking lot to pick her up.

I'm finding the journey to that point to be more pleasant with people around me to share stories, laughter, and common interests.
Glad you found your sweet spot. Mine is limiting human contact unless absolutely necessary..lol.

I live across the street from the field, so ya, I watch and go to practices. Even if it’s sitting on the front porch that day. Couldn’t tell ya how many times our house has become the first aid center or bathroom break spot (other option is porta pottie). Reminds me, I need to buy a couple extra bags of ice on the way home tonight

Always a breath of fresh air... Lol!!
;)
I will say that there is one person, whose DD was on Marcela's previous team, who I will chat with occasionally when I am waiting for Marcela in the car and he finds that I am not sleeping. Other than that I literally haven't spoken to any other parent on the team since she joined 6 months ago..They are not missing much :)

My answer comes as a coach and parent.

Rec sports: I typically coached her teams in softball, basketball, and soccer. In general most parents seemed to stick around when they were at the younger ages. Maybe up to 10u. Then it was drop and run from 12u up. This really didn't bother me as a coach, other than the parents that didn't return at the announced time to pick up their children. Sometimes I was stuck waiting at the field for an extra hour while I waited for a parent to show up.

Travel Ball: At 12u most parents stayed for practice. At 14u there were a few car pools. But we had girls from several different school districts, so it was limited. In a lot of cases a parent would drop off their daughter and run some errands. A few would stick around. By 2nd year 16u very few parents came to practices. Most of the players drove themselves.

High school: Off limits. None of the coaches allowed any spectators to their practices. After finding out how little they actually did at practice, the restrictions made sense ;)

When I wasn’t part of the coaching staff, I’d stay but hang in the nearby pavilion and chat with a few other parents who drove over an hour to practice like I did. I wasn’t right at the field watching all the time.

The only time I’ve seen my dd’s HS team practice is when my ds was playing a baseball home game since the fields are back to back.
