I'm sure you have exercised your right to not wear one with no issues for the 24-50000 deaths due to flu between. Oct.2019 to April 2020. And the millions infected with it in that same period. You could ha e easily been a spreader of that virus, but I bet you didn't bat an eye about wearing ppe during that. Guess what those stats are every year. It's multiple chance in a lifetime to be protected then. I know thought this virus is way more contagious etc. The flu virus has a vaccine etc. Etc. Death is death.
If the cdc or towns around me had made it mandatory like they have now. Yes i would have

Actually, I've worked in a hospital environment for years. Every year we got fit-tested for the N-95 and sat through a 2-day infectious disease class. The infectious disease control officer for the hospital is very smart as well as personable. She's been clamoring for 20+ years that if a true pandemic ever hit, the American health system is woefully unprepared and the hospitals themselves, completely inadequate.

The biggest problem American healthcare has during this pandemic is they are millions of dollars in the hole. They are following and laying off a lot of people. Hospitals are empty.

True. But that's because a majority of them rely on elective/ non-emergency surgeries for their revenue. The number one earner for SCC Hospital is a Gastroenterologist and he does approximately 40-50 colonoscopies a week; sometimes more. Now, with the ban on elective surgeries, he hasn't performed one in a month.

ETA: Actually, in over a month and closer to 6 weeks.

Your missing the point. You are saying we should because it spreads virus. Its no secret when the flu season is in the unit states and during that time little to no one wears ppe during that. Even though it's a known fact to public that it infects millions and kills thousands every year.but yet you don't wear it because your not told to? I thought this was in love and caring for thy neighbor?

Still waiting for anybody to answer my question. How can the authorities decide to allow thousands of people a day to roam a grocery store or big box home improvement store daily but the sporting goods(any small retailer) store that has maybe 100 shoppers a day must be closed? If the goal is to slow the spread this is illogical.

Sounds like the same logic some are using to state that voting booths will be unsafe in november... If I can be around 100+ people at home depot in not concerned about 20 at my local voting booth.

Even though it kills every age and not primarily the elderly. To be clear im not saying it's not serious. I'm also not saying it's the flu, but I guess those those thousands that have died by the flu are not as bad because it's not covid-19. Therefore it justifies not wearing protection unless you are told to by the CDC etc.

Are you sure? The statistics on this are so skewed it isn't even funny. No one knows the true number of cases nor the true mortality rate because of several factors, 1) The Chinese have lied to the world since day 1 and no one knows where and how this truly started although some pretty heavy circumstantial evidence is coming out of US and our Allie's security agencies saying that it did, indeed, come from a Chinese Bio-Warfare lab. So no one Truly knows when it started. Time will tell on that. 2) The Chinese kicked out any non-Chinese State sanctioned news agencies so that the government could control the numbers released 3)Pretty much less than 10% of the entire US population has been tested and a majority of those have been anyone that is in the "high risk" group and showed all of the classic symptoms. Someone could still be in the "high Risk," group, have all of the symptoms except the fever and still not be tested. 4) No matter the true cause of death, Any death that occurred in a hospital has, and will be reported as a Covid-19 or Covid-19 related death. Why? Because hospitals get extra money for each one reported and with elective surgeries banned, they need all the money they can get. 5) Many true Covid_19 or related deaths that happened outside of a hospital will never be reported due to lack of testing and/or autopsies. So all-in-all, the numbers will never be right. But, I'd bet that in the end, with the numbers reported, the mortality rate of this will be close to the Influenza viruses (plural). Again, time will tell.

However, the only way true numbers/statistics will be achieved is if every single person in the world, both alive and that have passed in the past 10 months are anti-body tested; and even then, it will still have a percentage of error due the error % of the test itself.

the virus withstood chlorinated water in a hot tub? Ain't buying that. Neither is the CDC.

No, of course not. Covid19 is mainly transmitted through air droplets.

At a resort, most people stop skiing around 4pm or 5pm, then they hang out in a hot tub, go out to eat, and then to a bar.

Ski resort hot tubs are communal--much more so than hot tubs at the gym. You have a lot of people in close proximity. Due to the temperature of the hot tub, most are breathing deeper than usual. I can't blame them...an outdoor hotub in the winter is fantastic. hottub.jpg

After the hot tubs, people get dressed up and go out to eat and then for drinks The restaurants are full, and people are close together again.

A perfect environment for Covid19 transmission through exhaled water droplets.
