No way...that post was way to well thought out and actually contained information :)

This thread has become very tiresome though, so I will let people have at it. I do want to thank
a couple of peeps for some info about Dicks and such. Seems it works kind of the same way for them as one of the car franchises
we have and the parts quarterly credit we get. Good to know.

Again, people think I think Wilson bats are poop...I have never said this. CFX...PXT...yes...haha. They have some good bats and I am sure they
will continue no matter who does or doesnt buy.

I think the company is filled with dbags that are completely against small business and customers are not even close to their main concern. That's all :)

I would have a hard time believing that any of these bats will hold up and not have issues like we have seen out of the Ghost.

I'm thinking the same thing. It seems like it would be difficult to produce a durable thin outer wall while still retaining high performance and decent weighting.

CoreSoftball20, I have never posted here before and have no idea who you are inferring that I am. I only stumbled onto this site in a google search as I looked to hear what the reaction was to the new Prism bat. I was reacting only to your post about DeMarini following Easton when that is not true.

Yes the gap wall is a modification of Ray's original patent by spacing the walls so they don't touch as they did in the first Doublewalls. In fact Easton has a long history of following DeMarini's inventions. Back in the day the original 2 piece composite handle bat was the F1 prototype bat followed by the production F2 softball bat and then the Venum/Vexxum baseball bat which came out a year before Easton responded with the Stealth.

You seem like a very knowledgeable person and a reputable dealer in what you sell. I wish you all the best in your business ventures.

I'm not worried about the performance or weighting of the bat just the durability. The other that worries me about these bats is if they continue to get hotter and hotter the governing bodies of softball will have no other option than to change the standards like they just did in little league baseball.

Well, - after experiencing it myself this weekend, I am inclined to agree that bat performance is going to have to be addressed in the next couple of years. We bought a Ghost last week and this weekend she hit 5 line drives that lazered through the infield with no chance for the fielders to react - they were that fast. These were hits from a batter that usually swings a CF8, but I've never seen her hit a ball that "fast" before...

My fear is that rather than a focus on "softball skill", pennants will be won by teams swinging the most expensive bats and the scores will look like house league scores...

I understand what you are trying to say here. And I appreciate the concept that your dd is hitting the ball hard with the Easton.

What you are experiencing imho is a hitter who has a bat in her hands that better matches her swing than the bat that was in her hands before. The CF8 and the ghost are weighted differently and have completely different feels. This is not an apples to apples comparison.

Ghost is a great bat. Xeno is the Wilson “comparable” imho. (Some won’t agree.) I do not think you will see a huge performance difference between comparable bats, you might need to go to a -9 Xeno to get that same feel but it can be done pretty close.

I front tossed to a hitter with a new LXT yesterday. The exit speed according to my “eye radar” was very good. That bat fit her.

You won’t find many people that agree that the “new bats” are better than the “old bats”. Hitters are getting better and players and parents are doing a better job matching bats with hitters. But... at the upper levels, infielders field ground balls that look unfieldable at different ages/skill levels. In other words, if you are playing with true peers, ground balls are outs.

Expensive bats aren’t changing the game. They are changing our pocketbooks, they might be keeping some players out of the game, but they aren’t changing the game. What is changing the game is that pitchers no longer dominate hitters. Probably why less girls want to pitch. Probably a bad thing for the sport. But I doubt that anything will change with bats.

We played an NSA tournament this weekend so the Ghost couldn't be used... DD swung a 32/22 Xeno instead and got some great hits off of it. Not as much velocity as the Ghost, but still more than the CF8. Same kind of line drive that she has been hitting the last two seasons, too high for the infield and too low for the outfield...

I am not convinced with this statement... DD has swung CF8 31/20, CF9 31/21, CF7 32/22, Xeno 32/21 and now Easton Ghost. TBH.. I believe all the other bats besides the Ghost is a better fit for her. However, she's hit some balls with the Ghost directly at 3rd and they barely have time to react to get their glove up. Balls off the end of the bat are finding the green, balls off the hands, hard enough to get by the pitcher and into the outfield. It is a special bat all along the barrel. Never seen so many mishits becomes hits from a bat before... and I don't mean errors

DD's first impression was "different". and swings easy. Comes in at 23.9 oz on a 34-24. a little more muted sound than both her ghost and lxt, and nothing like the anderson. A little longer in length than the ghost which was longer than the lxt. The knob on the handle is her favorite part so far. Its small and rounded like a half moon to the base if that makes sense. She just did some tee work but was impressed so far. Now just needs to see how far they go (that's her measurement). Will be off to the field for hitting this afternoon I am sure lol
