Yeah, I'm not sure I understand what inertia is being overcome, but the reason I asked the question was that you said that you saw, "pivoting, oar lock effect and the hands just being a rotational point", and was just wondering what it was that you saw "pivoting [around the] oar lock effect and [what it was] the hands [were] just being a rotational point [of]".Early on in swing there is overcoming inertia, so I don't think there a ton of turning. As the swing unfolds then yes there is turning.
So while it could possibly argued that the barrel might not be "snapping rearward" depending on one's definition of "snapping", but if you introduce the other above aspects stated, then I'm curious what it is that is pivoting/turning around them.
