So we hit tonight for a bit...mind you she had swim practice for 2 hours this afternoon so I'm sure she was a little tired but she wanted to hit so off we go...

We ONLY focused on the hand movement above - You can see she's trying like hell to get Howe's hand movement right (and failing LOL) To boot, this was at the expense of some other moving parts notably the barrel flattening and the rear elbow forward...trying to get her to extension was next to impossible...

I completely expected this...You can't expect to make a big change to the action of the hands - the connection point between body and bat - and not expect ramifications. For those of you following along trying to help your DD once in a while you will have to backwards to go forwards...no worries...just part of the process...

We will hit later this week and head back to back chaining with the added *NEW* hand action. I was probably a bit ambitious and premature with the hitting tonight.

Comments welcome...CP
Keep reinforcing hands above the ball. Work from on top of the ball. She is staying flat palmed and extending well. You can see the difference on how the ball is exiting. Keep at it.

here is the latest for the lil one...she has been working a GO A drills a lot with a simple goals of keeping her weight back, letting the fall happen and for God's sake don't flatten while you ride. It's getting better....

On a side note, I cannot thank Noon enough. that GO A recommendation was spot on. It hasn't fully fixed the flatten yet, but it is decreasing the severity and frequency, a side benefit is she is much better against the changeup and older DD is much better against faster pitching. It's really a combo of "start slow and early" and ride the rear leg, but it really gives a big window on pitch timing.

and big sis getting a nice early start and timing up a flamethrower nicely....droppy and flingy but it was our only hit against this pitcher...note the time between thigh slap of pitcher and crack of bat. She is usually far behind pitchers that throw this fast...
