Watch out for the butt poking backwards...that could be your left arm straightening culprit...I picked this up because of the fence line in the background...

Even before the missing frames - front hip elevating above the rear hip is problematic...keep the front hip down as the front leg picks up - pull back into the hips - don't stand up.

Hand usage tied with core usage...look at brooke...specifically her legs/hips. Even though bat wrapping a bit - no long swing. Look at the bends in her knees and hips compared to Maddie. Brooke's torso cannot over rotate back because of her initial movement and set up. just my opinion - I am just a coach still learning...always learning.

I agree coach....as a dad still learning....always learning.

Just another dad always learning, but I agree with both of you. In my opinion body parts are working together to provide the desired result (or not...). It is the coordination between them that provides the dynamic balance that is required to be successful.

Although it wasn't the focus if the most recent tee session, one of the current components we are working on is the over-rotation of her shoulders (which she doesn't do nearly as much when hitting moving balls). I would like the elbow to be drawing back more (toward 3B dugout) rather than the shoulders turning so much. We have touched on this issue before, but it's something that she hasn't adopted yet.

I appreciate the input (from most of you, anyway). There was a time when I would try to fix everything all at once. It left both my Maddie and I frustrated with each other a lot. I'm trying to keep things a little less complicated and overwhelming by keeping our sessions focused on just one or two concepts. It's been better for both of us.

Eric - just a thought since you brought it up. Take a look at Maddie's head and the direction her nose is pointing. Now take a look at Brooke's head and the direction her nose is pointing. In my opinion, this could have a correlation with "over rotation of the shoulders" in the tee swings. Do you ever ask her to focus on a fictitious pitcher before making a tee swing? Does the same type of "over rotation" occur in those swings? How is Maddie's vision in both eyes?

I would focus on the hand usage

and how they differ....

in their paths.

I am aware. Thanks. This is definitely something she does differently when working on the tee compared with moving pitches (game swing on page 60).

Eric. Nice work. If I had to note a difference: your DD looks to be making an effort to flare her lead leg (which is also causing some of her counter-rotation on top, IMO) while Brooke is working her rear leg and the front leg action is a result of it. That's one of the reasons I don't like to "teach" the front leg. It can be a "false flag" event. I know some on this thread will disagree. Congrats to Maddie on her work.
