My 17 year old (turns 18 this fall, going into senior year) uses a 32/21 DeMarini. She is 5'-5", 105, but strong for her size. No problems getting around on a fast pitch, not a home run hitter but not a contact hitter either - she can hit pretty deep.

She is ready to move to a -10, but wants to have a balanced bat. Most -10 bats seem end weighted to her, not balanced like a -11 or -12. Any suggestions?

My 5'4" 16 year old swings a 33/24 LXT or a 33/23 Xeno (both of which are almost exactly the same weight). You might want to see if she can swing something a bit longer/heavier.

I agree with this. DD is 5'3" and about 100 lbs and swings either a 33/23 Xeno or LXT. She goes back and forth between the 2

You can go bigger and heavier, if she wants to. I am 5'9" and only swing a 32, 22 because I am a senior citizen. I get free coffee at McDonalds.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking at the Miken Freak Black. Not many Mikens used around here, though her older sister has used a Miken for a number of years (and loves it).

DH would like her to switch to a 31, so no way would he purchase a 33. Would cause too much drama, so we'll stick with a 32. She'll finish out the last 3 weeks of travel with her current bat, then she'll make the switch to a 32/22.

31" is too short for someone her height. Even 32" is questionable. (IMO)

My 5'-0", 90 lb. 10yo DD has been swinging a 31" for almost a year (currently 31/21 Miken Freak Black).
My 5'-3", 105 lb. 16yo DD has been swinging a 32" for a few years.

All that said, if she's really comfortable with the 32" length and hits well with it, sticking with a 32" isn't the worst decision. I you stay at 32", a move up in weight to a 32/22, I definitely agree with.

for someone about to turn 18 a 32" is a t-ball bat. You will be hard pressed to find one in a college dugout. Step up to a 33" or 34". I have girls smaller than her that can handle them.
