Screwball

I recall an old thread where people were asking for videos of a sharp screwball.

I couldn't find the thread but I just found this footage and it really impressed me

I knew it had to be an off-speed of some sort but I didn't know what. I would take it over a screwball any day!

I only got it was a knuckle because of the grip.

I have also noticed that I can only get this to work when I get closed more than 45º (almost square to homebase). Maybe, that's the reason I could never pitch it faster.

Anyway, as I'm working to get my mechanics improved I'm not throwing anything but FBs.
I'll give it a try next time on the field and hopefully will get more videos to post.

Edy I brought the video & stills over here for my future reference. My DD got it breaking alittle first try !

I got a couple suggestions:

• I would get a new regulation ball. Seams will be more pronounced.
• I had her move the middle finger closer to index, so both fingers would be snapping down on the full rise of the seam. That was a no brainer as her hands aren't as big as yours ???

I'm really glad she is having fun with it!
I have received so much help from the amazing people on this forum and I feel happy being able to help others too.

BTW, if she got it on the first try she's going to nail it in no time. Congrats!!!

If possible, let us know about her development with this pitch.
