I like to think of all one move, but ^^^yes, if you want to think of load. A power V in the back arm. Then from launch through, the back is pulling back. Not the chest pushing or turning forward.

A GREAT VIEW OF UPPER RESISTANCE PULLING BACK.

Pujols does not swing hips before hands. You can not think "hips go then hands go" like so many past softball experts, and many current…even top, softball coaches would like you to think you can.
The swing goes….it is launched…it is just the rear leg turns forward, and the back pulls back along with the hands turning the barrel. So the lower is turning and the upper is pulling against it until released and snapped through.
And as long as I am rambling on, the rear leg doesn't have to be forced turned. If you get coiled around the rear leg….ride the coil….and snap turn the barrel to the ball….it all happen reactively. Don't need to teach it. Besides the previous stuff about POWER V, hands close to rear shoulder….teach coiling around the rear leg….and tighten up the barrel turn. That is it…= SUDDEN…..=ADJUSTABLE….=SHORT TO THE BALL…=POWER WITHOUT BEING LONG.

RHC,
Your spot on with your suggestions. I was just pointing out the different elbow positions during the 'launch'.

Also notice the 'slop' in swing where the bat is 'stagnant' while the elbow goes up. The bat doesn't get going until the elbow slots.

We want the swing to slot the elbow. We don't want slot then swing.

I originally posted this video of Manny to show suddenness….one move no stopping…not back then forward…and many other things this full speed vid shows. When it is slowed down…along with every other super slo mo video posted….it breaks a swing down into mini mini micro seconds that no hitter needs to care about. Have her watch just how sudden the swing is…..it is ride the coil------snap.

RDBass….I was thinking exactly the same as your posts, just my monthly gif limit on photo bucket is getting slim….thanks!

Also look at Manny's hands. They are nearly the same spot in his stance as the are in the "load" and as they are in the "launch" RELATIVE TO HIS REAR SHOULDER/OR TORSO MAY BE A BETTER WORD WITH LOWER HAND SET HITTERS. Drive a swivel pin between his hands to his shoulder.

some more:
I have no problem with her high rear elbow…but see/feel how her action is an independent elbow and arm action. She and feel how Evan's elbow gets back around into his back, connecting to his torso. Also…all winter I said daily to my dd "ride the coil" Mudvnine said the other day "coil and float" or don't just stride "stride to read and ride". Great cues to staying in and increasing the rear hip coil….goes well with this gif:

Also she pushing forward to swing. The good hitters pull back to whip the barrel forward (other belly button posters are trying to take what I told them is wrong with their swing a year ago and re-market it with a new term). See their neck areas, between the shoulder blades, on their best swings go back ward.

Your dd is "everything is forward" in the upper torso. They are "everything is back" in the upper torso to whip the barrel. The back muscles are resisting turning and resisting going forward.

Posting a hitter closer to your DD's age for comparison:
