I think the "Flower Power" tourney in North Des Moines is still a 9GG. Its usually mid-May, 14U division. I believe NDM also has a 12U 9GG that takes place Memorial Day weekend

I've heard about those short game times and agree - seems like they're playing musical chairs. The first question for any event with a high gg should be about game time limit. Cutting a pizza into more slices doesn't result in more pizza. In Texas there are several tournaments with 8-10 gg. However our experience is the pools games are usually 45-50 minute drop dead. This past summer I witnessed one of the pools games where the first team to bat scored 12 runs in the first inning and left 5 minutes on the clock when the other team came to bat. I would much rather find a good 4 GG tournament where the pool games are 85-90 minutes. Our girls seem to get more out of the longer games, just my opinion.
