I will not post my students without permission. I volunteer myself doing the drill. Another progression is doing it from one leg, as the video shows toward the end. Click on the bigger image to play the video. You should be able to go frame-by-frame from right there. (Sorry the sound is off... happens when I edit section of video out in Quicktime Pro.)

Sorry, but the excessive tilt you see against high pitches in this clip is just as problematic as chopping down on the ball, because it minimizes the time the bat head spends on plane with the ball. That is why you don't see it in good swings.

This is what you see in good swings at high pitches.

I'm lost, really lost. Where is the tilt in these swings, or Tulo's swing? There is minimal or no tilt in all examples provided. All high pitches. What are you trying to argue??

Look at the swing at 14 seconds into your clip and compare and contrast what you are doing with what they are doing.

They are two very different things because you aren't varying your tilt according to the height of the pitch.

This may work against soft toss 12-6 curveballs, but it won't work against high, hard fastballs.

You are looking at my right shoulder... it does not tilt at all from "go." You consider this excessive tilt?

Thanks for posting a clip of your drills and swing.

Your swing path and rotation is different than anything I believe in about the swing. I agree with Chris on, high fast stuff the kids will have trouble with.

I am sure your truely believe in this path of instruction, good luck to you.

Straightleg

Can you be more specific about what you believe and what you think I am doing?

I am driving my hip and keeping my hands inside the ball. Tilting as needed.

Straightleg, try it for one night with your players. As I have described it. Report back with how they feel. Give me some stuff to try and I'll do the same.

Tewks- firstI am by own admission more of a student of hitting at this time than an instructor, & I can only compare what people are trying to teach against what I see the elite hitters in the game are doing. Having said that, I dont see any elite hitters swinging the bat remotely like you are. All are transfering weight to the front big time at contact & none promote trying to swing off the back foot.

SB Coaches:
I've never hit a riseball. Are you supposed to swing down to hit it? If yes, wouldn't this be a major departure from baseball swing mechanics?

These are low effort, hip isolation swings. You can rotate your hip without turning your knee. Just as you can turn your knee without turning your hip. (The femur rotates in the hip socket aka squish the bug.)

The next clip and the image below it are from the same swing:
