I would go with turf cleats or molded cleats on a turf field just for that little extra added traction. The turf can still be slippery with morning dew or a light rain and tennis shoes will just slide. I saw many a youth soccer player think they could get away with regular tennis shoes on a turf field and end up looking like they just slipped on a banana peel when kicking the ball.

My DD's only played on a turf field once and she didn't have too many issues at catcher. The fielders were a mess though because they were not used to the bigger bounces.

DD liked to wear metal if they would let her C or in OF but most played with Rubber cleats. If you have some time before games work on bounces. If there is any spin it takes a funny hop. Also angles in OF are important although in most case anything in the gaps will go to fence. Hopefully they have temp fences set up or there will be a lot of HR's.
