Can a girl who is eligible for the lower age bracket, but has been playing up for 7 months come back down to her age group? Will there be prostests in tournaments?

You don't give an age, but if she has been playing 14U all summer and her birthday allows her to play 12U then she is legal. This is a very common occurrence in travel. There are whole teams who do what you ask.

If she is rostered on the team she has been playing up with, she cannot play down. She would have to be taken off of the team roster and not be listed again for the rest of the season. She can, however, pick up with the older group.

I think it depends on the association. I know you can't in ASA. It is definatly easier to play 2 different age groups in 2 different associations, but if you are talking about playing in the same association, you may get some angry coaches protest, whether it's legal or not.

In ASA a player can move up or down until a team plays in a national qualifier. Between the alphabets there is no problem.
