Dude...it is called shin guards. Nothing to be ashamed of. I never catch DD without shin guards. Now it may be a while before I catch her again. My middle finger of catching hand swelled and bruised to nasty proportions. Not broken...we think too many impacts on same knuckle.

Ready to start paying catchers...

I was a bucket mom. DD can't pitch anymore due to an injury. I broke down and put on the equipment after I missed one and it put a hairline fracture in my shin.

DD doesn't pitch, but she catches and there are two pitchers in the neighborhood that call all the time for her to catch them. Win win situation for the girls and the Dads. I don't have to throw so many pitches and they stay healthy when their DD's practice.

Had on the shins guards yesterday but then a girl from the playground came up behind me to watch I guess right as a drop ball was about to get by me so I put out my leg out to deflect the ball from potentially hitting the girl . . . took it off the inside of the ankle achilles area . . . walking slow today :/ the girl has no idea what she's missing.
