I've wondered....
In a world of coaches/players picking pitches.
See how Littlejohn's wrist is pre-cupped on her back-swing?
Presumably to pre-position her hand/wrist to throw that nasty curveball.
I wonder:
a) Does her backswing look noticeably different on her other pitches?
b) if it does, is that enough time for a RHB to pick and setup to hit the curve?(LHB wouldn't have a good vantage point to see the backswing as well...)
c) if you can pick the curve, even then, could you even get a bat on that nasty thing?!
You can pick it, or guess right... still got to hit it dead center, or you got a foul, pop-up, or grounder...
