Poor attempt! The barrel stays behind the hands, as I have always said. That relationship does not change. The bat head moves with rotation, the shoulder turns, the hands turn, the bat turns. That is connected swinging. At no time does the loaded wrist angle change, the bat follows the shoulder. This is exactly why you don't release the bat head early. This is correct.
You can't turn your shoulders quickly enough to hit an outside pitch. Believe me, I've tried the whole "bat head moves with rotation" type of swing. The bat head appears to be moved by rotation. The hands are active from the outset.
I cannot stress enough the value of the hands in hitting an outside pitch. Yes, you can just hold on to the bat and rotate. You'll hit the outside pitch decently off of a tee. It's not going to happen in a game.
