Right Peppers. It isn't what I teach and I follow mostly what Hillhouse teaches. In fact, he really speaks against it. I love how he asks the student if they slap while walking and while throwing overhand.

It is exhausting and I like a KIS (keep it simple) approach. If I can hear the slap, it is too hard. Long term injury to that glove arm and wrist has to be a possibility. It might not show up until they are 30, though.

This comes across to me a self-generated fear to support your particular beliefs. Pitching isn't a new activity. Do you have any data to support the bold above? Would appreciate a link to such supportive data.

Yes. She will be even more dominant. But I have not had a Varsity pitcher smack her thigh, so that says something.

All that says is that you haven’t had pitchers like Cat.

Look I could find an example of everything bad in an elite pitcher, especially one who is retired.

Sounds like you are acknowledging that the avoidance of a glove slap is not an absolute.

I am not going to have my pitcher do something that is detrimental,

Where is the data that shows that glove slapping is detrimental?

One could speculate that improper deceleration mechanics associated with preventing the glove slap termination process are harmful to the shoulder.

slapping the thigh is a lazy gliove hand, lack of body awareness, and improper technique, simple as that.

The adductive action is not lazy. Neither is it improper technique. I invite you to prove differently.

Again, it is the weak pitchers who slap their thigh.

See earlier GIFs. Sarah and Cat are not “weak pitchers”.

Glove slapping is conducive to poor mechanics. It stops the cycle. Stop that and work on the next flaw...

Cat or Jennie or Kilani, they are not perfect. Have a good night.

I’m simply not seeing the avoidance of the glove contacting the front thigh as an absolute.

Seemed to work for Ueno. She threw pretty hard … 74mph.
