So, I think the real SECRET,
is for the upper arm/elbow to make contact *before* the hand/ball reaches the inline axis of that upper arm.
Upper arm reaches the "point of stability" and THEN the lower arm makes bush contact as it internally rotates into release.
True "whip", "ball lag" etc.

In this vid of your DD, her hand/ball is "ahead" of her upper arm,
before the upper arm has made contact.
Don't get me wrong - she is looking really good!
But I suppose that I'm saying don't fixate so intently on getting "brush" if other aspects of the mechanics aren't quite optimal.
None of these individual concepts are "silver bullets", but when performed in concert - watch out!

So many good things with her mechanics.

I think Corlay is correct about the ball getting ahead of the upper arm. The video skips from 9 o'clock directly to release so it is a bit unclear, but you can see some gap between the upper arm and her side. A little backward chaining to a point closer to 8 o'clock with emphasis on arm whip seems to a good idea.

After you use the AccraSpeed for a while I think you will be able to interpret when the pitcher is getting brush interference vs. when they just "blow through" the release zone without contact.....

Hi Rick,

Any luck dialing in the Accraspeed to detect the proximal deceleration of the upper-arm? You know... strap it to the bicep... and if it chirps... the upper arm was moving too fast?

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, brush interference happens when the hip rotates from 90 degrees (accelerating open) to around 45 degrees(decelerating into the front side). The shoulders follow the hips accelerating and decellerating as the arm is on the downside, the elbow slows at the bottom as the shoulders stop and braces. The forearm speeds past the elbow brushing the side into the whip and IR. If I have this correct, we have trouble achieving the whip, when our sequence is off or one or more of our components is over or under firing. Components I mean hips, shoulders, arm, forearm.

If the WIAA state tournament officials in Wi would see this they would call it side arm , cost a pitcher 13 illegal pitches and a st championship,,, but i am teacing it to my GD, except the brush is a little issue, we are just not there yet, will be.

With good brush, the wrist is no farther from the body than the elbow. WIAA would be misinterpreting the rule as I understand it.

Matter of where you decide that the wrist is not further from the body than the elbow, ay one point in the clip it is,

I have never seen what they justified the call on, they are aware how ever i understand. i can send you a pm of another if you wish

I would agree they are not in the know.
