I can't see images you have posted on this thing, but in Nick'c pic, the pitching rubber was to the right of the feet and the ball path would have likely been to the left. I'll check out this thread when I get home so I see the images you have posted.

LOL! Poor Nick. All of those lines and the orientation of left (catcher) to right (pitcher), from his original image, could be read many different ways. For some of us that rotated Nick's original image in our head, we saw that the feet were oriented correctly, albeit perhaps not on the correct line to the catcher. I've rotated Nick's original image (on the left) 90° so that the rubber is at the bottom and the catcher, or target, would be at the top. I then repositioned the feet to be more in line with BoardMember's suggestion (on the right).

This what everybody had in mind?

ROFL!!! You're right Ken! I totally didn't get that the original picture was a Right to Left orientation..........I looked at it as front to back.......

Thanks Adman..........

Still working in the arm circle. I think it is getting better but she is having a hard time staying loose while doing these drills......

Boomer........Please stop doing this drill until I post a clip.........It's not close to what I wrote.........

Lets review:

I DO NOT WANT THE BALL TO PASS OVER HER THROWING SHOULDER..........KEEP THE BALL JUST BARELY OUTSIDE HER THROWING SHOULDER OVER THE TOP OF THE CIRCLE and let the ball fly just as she does above.........Also........ALLOW HER TO TAKE A STEP FORWARD WITH HER LEFT FOOT TO PERFORM THIS DRILL..........

The circle will feel slightly abbreviated.......That's OK......Her weight may feel slightly toward her toes when she throws........That's ok too!.........Just get her to perform a 3/4 circle with a forward step from the drill position, keeping the ball just barely outside the throwing shoulder over the top of the circle..........

Seriously.........None of the above is being accomplished..........

Question....if the arm circle is to be entirely outside of the shoulder, how does the elbow "plant" causing the humerous to remain stationary for a split second if the arm/elbow never comes in contact with the hip? Im having a hard time putting my question in to words. Basically how does IR of the arm occur if the arm circle is outside of the shoulder.....I guess we are confused. Hopefully your clip will clear things up. We appreciate the help.

I'll be interested in BoardMember's next post, but he wrote:

So he's referring to the "ball" or hand. My guess is this will take care of most of the rest of the arm's alignment, but doesn't necessarily pull the elbow away from the body. Your DD should still be able to get her elbow down into her side/hip for the whip. I use the trick of holding a pool noodle behind my DD while she throws into a net. If she hits the noodle she's reached too far past her center-line at the top and at 9 o'clock. Then, when I catch for her, and am able to notice it, I can use the shorthand of saying, "you hit the pool noodle!" Otherwise she is throwing around her body/hip.
