I'm sitting here full from Thanksgiving and I was looking online at gloves earlier. I see different webs (I web, H web, basket, etc)...is one better than the other?

There is a method to a web's madness.

Pitchers gloves and catchers mitts mostly have a single, two piece, or dual hinge webs. These are the strongest webs. An added feature of these webs is that a pitcher can better conceal the grip on the ball. In softball, there are catchers mitts that have a basket type web.

Most infielders gloves will have an I-web or single post. I-webs are good for middle infielders because gloves with I-webs tend to have shallow pockets. Single post webs are good for players at 3rd base and 1st base because the web is strong and gloves with single post webs tend to have medium depth pockets.

Outfield gloves usually have the trap or H-webs. Gloves with these webs have deep pockets.

So Cal
Something else to keep in mind...Gloves don't have to be listed as "softball". There are a lot of baseball gloves that work great for softball.

Yep! Likewise, there are a lot that don't. Just make sure you do your homework.
