    jennie finch vs baseball

What I meant by harder was basically that they didn't have a hardball pitcher pitch against a softball hitter. I think it really depends on what kind of batter you are, Softball is a lot closer and has a rise ball Hardball is further but has a smaller ball and you can throw much more pitches...

    Finishing the strike out

It will throw their timing off but 2nd or 3rd strike is the most obvious time someone will throw a change up. Always keep the batter on their heels, throw any pitch at anytime. I throw my change first pitch and it works great. Also to finish your strike outs I get my catcher to set up outside...

    Starting Weight?

I am 16 years old, 6ft 2 inches and 150 lbs. I practice a couple feet back from my regular distance every time I pitch, I pitch around 5 ft further.

    Starting Weight?

I wanna build up strength in my arm so I am going to start using weighted balls. I have used them before and I think they will really help me out. I was thinking of just buying some nails and putting them in the seams of a ball but was wondering what a good starting weight would be? As I grow I...

    Awww shucks! Almost!

yea that had to be one of the worst no hitters I have ever seen! 134 pitches thrown, haha Tampa Bay always has to do with these no hitters/perfect games just on the opposing team.

    Trips to the Mound

What we do is just calm down and just try to focus on the next batter. If the coach has some advice on the next batter or next couple he will say something but most of the time we just crack jokes and just take the time to calm down.

    Awww shucks! Almost!

Nobody hit off your pitcher to get on base successfully no hitter. You retired every single batter which is perfect. perfect game.

    jennie finch vs baseball

They should really get a softball batter to hit against a hardball hitter. The speed and pitches they can throw with those balls are insane, so that just might change that myth. I am all for softball being harder to hit as I am a softball hitter but they could of done a better job in that...

The only good donut is the edible kind

Wow, that's really interesting. I use one myself but I knew I wasn't increasing my bat speed, It just made me feel a lot more comfortable up to bat because when I pick up my game bat at the start of a new game it feels heavy but I put the weight on, take it off and it feels lighter. I knew it...

Where to stand in the batters box?

I play 16u and I usually stand further back in the box so I have more time. I have heard that you should stand closer because their rise or drop balls will not have enough time to do what they are suppose to do. A lot of competitive mens fastball is around here and they are the best in the world...

    Adding Weight to a Bat

I have been using big cats batting drill for about 4 months now, 4 times a week and I have found I am hitting the ball at least 15% further, its a great drill.

What's the first movement pitch to work on?

That second line, lost you at internal... and from a radar gun my pitches are faster when I have more drop spin on the ball then If I didn't.

    Pitching Weighted Balls

I am a 16 year old male pitcher who knows several different types of pitches and throws them well in games. I got all my pitches down so know I wanna increase my speed and get stronger. What do you guys think of weighted balls? I put nails in the seams of ball to make it heavier and I weighed it...

What's the first movement pitch to work on?

No such thing as a fastball I say, I got a peel drop and it is faster then my "fastball" because when I flick my wrist it increases the speed greatly. So I would say peel drop.

What I learned about my DD this weekend...

I pitch terrible when I'm ticked off. I rush through my pitches and get wild. I am just glad I could care less what the people are saying on the bench because when there up to bat a strike out is the best revenge.

    Moving to 43'

This is a hard thing to improve on, it is mainly practice. I am in bantam(14-16) and I am affiliated with a midget team(16-19) and I have to move back 3 ft also. What I do is when I practice pitching I throw around 3-5 ft further then I normally would pitch from. Once you are on the mound in a...

    What makes a great tournament?

    1. Competitive, Low scoring, close games. 2. Teams that you have never played before and when you hear your playing them you go "WHO?" and you have no idea how skilled they will be. 3. Good weather, suns out, might be hot but you can stay cool by drinking water or getting some shade. 4. Umpires...

    Swing Away!

Hey guys, I got two questions for you! Whenever I face a pitcher I am looking to swing first pitch, and for some reason I tend to swing at a lot of balls but can still make contact but it may be a ground out or pop up. Does anyone have any Ideas so I won't swing at balls? It's not the biggest...

    Rise Grips

thanks Jim, I do know its not the grip that makes the ball move. But different grips are more comfortable for other people and that can be the reason why they throw a better pitch.
