    The big lie, travel baseball.

    My Brother coaches a HS team and a travel ball team and his philosophy closely mirrors my own . He tells the parents that if they are having their kids play a sport thinking they are going to somehow pay for college with scholarships to just start saving the money they would have paid to play...

    I sat through a 2 hr. LL game last night

    My experience with LL was that it was cheap daycare for most of the parents involved . I had parents who would drive up the street to the bar in plain view of the field while their kids were at practice and then I would have to call them to get them to come back and get their kids after practice...

    Its raining helmets!

    DD just finished her first HS softball season and while they put her at 3rd base instead of playing as a catcher I got to observe a lot of other catchers this year and all I can say is ,"Its raining helmets". Seriously , every play where the catcher is moving they are flinging that thing...

Most coaches and pitchers have a pitch progression , based on the hitter they are facing , that is pretty easy to figure out...

    There are a lot of last year model bats on clearance now . If possible I would let your Daughter swing as many of them as you can lay your hands on before buying one for her . I know of at least one shop here locally that demos bats for a nominal fee and if you buy from them they put the money...

    Thanks for the good thoughts , unfortunately after her last round of testing they have pushed her next baseline test to April 21st . If she passes the tests then she will have a 5 day Return To Play program initiated which will get her back just in time to watch the season end . I don't think...

    I am not really interested in playing softball in college . I am guessing not to many colleges are going to be interested in 44 year old guys with bad shoulders .
