    Vinci Fortus deal and thoughts

    I bought one for my 10 yo DD for Christmas and she loves it. It was very easy to break in and it looks like a quality product.

    What is under the tree this year?

    DD 1,2 and 3 all getting new gloves. One of the Worth lefty close-out spectaculars for DD1 the Vinci Fortus for 2&3. A new LS LXT for DD1, and batting gloves for all in their stockings.

    Rip It Helmet?

    Just set up my 14u team up with Rip-it this fall. My DD's have used them for years and loved them. Had and issue with the padding coming loose on a helmet a few years ago not more than 6 months after we bought it. I called Rip-it and explained the problem and I had a new one at my door in 3 days.

    Practice balls for hitting? Practice balls for pitching?

    Try a second-hand sporting goods store like Play-it again sports for BP balls. I have made it a regular spring event to go in to the local store and buy a bucket of used balls. As for the pitching balls, my pitchers love the Dream Seams for their practice balls.

    Private Lessons

    I really do understand what you are saying there. My DD is now playing on the middle school basketball team and is still finding time to get an extra SB workout or two in between TB practices. I really think that it comes down to more of a want/drive issue than anything else.

    I gotta say that the responses to this have really helped. I had an expectation going in, and from most of the feedback it's not far off. I was getting a little frustrated at the resistance that I was running into asking the girls to put in work outside of regular team practices.
