this is a good point, that's why I noted my DD was timed at the USA Elite Select tryout, a reputable source with no bias, jenny gladding actually had the timer in her hand and I am sure she has done this a thousand times so I trust the numbers, all 3 of my DD throws were right around 1.9,
When breaking in a girls fastpitch catchers mitt, do you recommend putting 1 or 2 (12") balls in the pocket overnight. One in the webbing and one in the palm.
of course 2 balls would form a bigger/deeper pocket, but would this cause problems getting the ball out of the glove for the transition...
thanks for the clarification, by mitten style I understood that to man no finger pockets just like a mitten 4 fingers would be next to each other. maybe vinci needs to clarify this in their description.
I just noticed that the Vinci Catcher's Mitts are mitten style as opposed to finger style.
Can anybody comment on this. I would like to have my DD try one on before buying. She is so used to the finger style I am worried she may not like the mitten style, of course it would help if we could try...

I'm looking for a new catcher's helmet for my 12 year old DD. Right now i'm leaning towards the Easton Mako, it looks like that helmet
has holes right above the eyes to see popups better. Any suggestions. Price is not important, She does fit into women's sizes as well.

that seems pretty good top me for a 12 year old. what do your 12 year old DD have for pop times?

my only issue would be with the pitcher's, we had a couple of pitchers who did not like throwing to lefty catchers, it was a visual thing, they just felt uncomfortable, your pitchers must be comfortable with their catchers, so if your pitchers don't have an issue with it then it shouldn't be a...
