the NCAA, the specific school, the conference, the bat manufacturer, the umpire, the people in the stands.

If you can make a case for negligence, anything a player signed is basically worthless. And everyone from bat manufacturers to the NCAA and everyone in between can be named.

I order to file a lawsuit you must have standing to do so. And I am pretty sure the one person who does will not be doing so. :) If there ever was a lawsuit I would look for it in High School where a proof of negligence would be much easier hurdle.

That is why I said it will have to happen to the right pitcher. I am not suggesting Finucane is that pitcher. But as litigious as we are as a society, some Litigators DD is going to be hit and he/she will take it to court.

In front...or in back.... FFS where at on the bat is the hit... Do you think batter has a good swing?

IMO contact was below (but near) the sweetest portion of the bat. That said, the sweet zone on these bats is fairly wide.

This particular swing was not excellent. I can envision swings delivering more energy.

PC, my DD has caught many line drives hit back at her in the circle (just like anyone else who has ever spent much time in the circle) but there are other times that she has been hit on her body because the line drive exited the bat too quickly for her to protect herself. The mask is for these rare times that all the stars align and the come backer is right back at her head. If you think your DD doesn't need a mask because of all of your expert training, you are living in a false sense of security.

Not wanting to get into one of your interrogations.... I'm not answering, until you answer my Question : how much faster do you think the UCLA hitter was than the one my DD handled ???

Finucane is typically mid-sixties. I counted ~12 frames to the bat and 11 frames from bat to impact. I estimate the UCLA batters hit was low 70s

I counted >16 frames from your dd to bat (50 mph max, probably hi 40s) and >15 frames on the return trip. I estimate the shot your dd fielded was 50-53 mph.

I assume 30 fps on the video you posted.

I think a lot of people are learning from this discussion and I appreciate the insights and civility of all of the posters in this thread.

I am continuously amazed at the technical capabilities of the posters and their intelligence! (Maybe I don't fit in here, after all) :)

PC- I am having a hard time distilling your posts. are you saying that Finucane is just improperly trained to field a come backer and this particular one was not really well struck so it should have been caught?

NO.... not really.... You know me better than that  I'm just trying to get video of DD on the same page as a pitcher of that Level....

Really it is sickening to me.... it is an Alert...that has triggered my Awareness. It is to me, an [sing-kri-tiz-uh m, sin-]

It is a Synchronicity. My DD studies her... Similar Body Type... TF gets a Comebacker on the same day as DD faces one. First one I've heard about since the regionals started... DD's first game for this league.

DD walks..... I'll have to get permission (???) to post the girl put in after DD set'm down... She got blasted. Because I was just that girls coach.... I made her wear a mask....

Think it would be more likely if TF would have blasted the hitter in the face, and her not have a guard on her helmet...
