Embrace the Hanson Principle.

Hanson Principle:
Always compare what anybody tells you about the swing to slow motion clips of the best hitters in the world”.
-- Mark Hanson

It is not ‘hating’ to point out teachings that do not embrace the Hanson Principle.

Folks should simply drop the good-ole-boy network .... and for the good of the kids, embrace the Hanson Principle.

This here is not an embrace of the Hanson Principle.

Now I'm confused.....

This here is similar ... and is not an embrace of the Hanson Principle.

FFS,
I have seen this gif a couple of times posted. Is this someones DD? If so may be the 'Hitting coaches' need to re-visit her thread and help her out with her swing. Then dads such as myself can learn how it's done and stop guessing.

RDB, after seeing that video of Bustos leading out-front with the rear elbow, I searched for any possibility of a hitter swinging this way. I sincerely tried to give the notion a chance. The best I could do is come up with this kid here.

It was purely coincidental that I later learned that she had received instruction by Howard and the other person in this thread promoting his concepts.

OK Thanks. It's good that this hitter has a hitting coach helping her.

Every time I look at this, it makes me think of TDS talking about using the core to get the barrel on plane with the pitch.

That said, I'm not seeing the animal menagerie. ;)

Wow - I don't see that at all.

Is this why all of the confusion? This is what people see in their heads when there is talk of the core?

FFS, I hope I didn't give the impression that I was giving an excuse to ignore the Hanson Principle. As many of you know, I taught/do teach breaking down the swing. I also teach core stuff per my old days with Steve E. (I do not profess that I represent anything the way Steve presents it.) Working on the swing with my dd, here is a drill that she did two summers ago. I was told by a few posters here not to put this up because it represents a terrible attempt at a swing. However, perhaps someone will find some use in it.

Um.... What's terrible about it? Looks good to me.

How does this hitter get from this position:

To this position of swinging under the rope:

I would have at least like to have seen the bat path on top of the rope and follow that path. Seems like this would make more sense, if that was/is possible.
