Yes RDB …. The attitude is one of ripping the handle off the bat. You want that feel at swing initiation.

Get the force couple working.

Rip the handle off the bat.

Tonight we worked on turning the barrel. I think I showed her the right way. Is she getting close?

Thanks for the images. I'll move the tee forward towards the front leg. I think I got so caught up in seeing if the barrel turned that I didn't pay attention to where the tee was.

Here's one more. Sorry about the lighting....slow motion made it grainy. But, the tee is towards the front leg more than the previous clips.

So Cal
The feeling I get when I look at her hitting is that she is trying to swing the bat with her arms. This is typical for young hitters. We want to get her to understand the feeling of moving the bat by rotation of the hands. A major component is "top hand swivel".

Top hand swivel...
Hold your right forearm vertically in front of you, with your hand in a fist at about shoulder height, and your thumb pointing over your rear shoulder. Rotate your wrist so your thumb is pointing to your right. That is "top hand swivel". Pick up a bat, and do the same movement (choke up, if necessary). Add the bottom hand, and do the same movement. Do no allow the bend in the right elbow to change. The movement is ONLY rotation of the forearm.

Top hand swivel gets the bat moving quickly, explosively, NOW!!, without the need for hand travel (in relation to the rear shoulder). Hand travel is slow. Hand rotation is fast. Getting the hitter to understand this hand action is a big step in a better direction.

Can you see the top hand swivel?

Great explanation. I especially like where you said "Hand travel is slow. Hand rotation is fast". I think that will hit home with her. I'll have her keep working on it.
