Have to echo the gist of what Sluggers, Cannonball and Gunner have said here. Both DD's have played just about every position (the P never caught and the C never pitched) and it helped them with their game in a variety of positive ways. My DD who pitches is still listed (4th yr of College) as a P/OF (who also hits) but coming up through TB she was a P/SS until we hit 14's...that particular Coach didn't want to risk injury and really put the brakes on her middle infield time but her speed, arm and ability to track the ball earned her a lot of time and work in CF. She really took to it and just last night told me that she still absolutely loves her time out there.
