Lots of people continued riding horses instead of driving those new fangled contraptions. Seems like some folks just like to keep shovelin it.

So out of this long response, the only thing you can say against using the wristbands is the players don't get tan? Really great argument there.

We use them, and not sure where slowing the game down came from, it has sped up our game. Of course we just have offensive and defensive, not pitch calling (it's the catcher's job). Ours is very simple 2 digits is the play, but we call out 3 digits / it's either the first 2 digits or the last 2 digits... simple

obviously, you didn't get the "girl's vanity" reference, which figures..... and if I offended you because you use them, then again you didn't read what I was writing, I don't care if someone uses them at all and could care less....I was referring to why people have to use them in the first place at such young ages....

Some of us have true A level ball and national championship teams at those ages. Those who don't might not understand how the system gives them an advantage on a less organized team.

If you have never used the system how can you make assumptions as to the effects (pros and cons) of the system. Isnt that called hearsey? Spread rumors much? Might you be that dad your speaking of spreading rumors of things you have never experienced?

Out of curiosity, are there any MLB teams using wristband systems yet?

Not that I have seen... but most of the college baseball teams have gone to them.

And pretty much every NFL team uses them.

Ownthezone is the second best software to make them (actually slightly more featured but a lot more expensive) and they have over 450 teams quoted on their site:
450+ College Customers! Wristband Sign System - Pick-proof baseball and softball sign system and software. Our Customers. for a list

Add in Nevermissasign clients and people who make their own and that is a good number.

If the girls are worried about vanity, maybe they are in the wrong sport. All those sweaty batting helmets, knee pads, face masks, etc.. Maybe dance or cheer is a better option:)

That's actually kind of funny because I asked the girls (18U) what they wanted to do... and they all said yes they like the wristbands, not me. So I guess their "Vanity" must be thrown out the window.

we play true A level and have for 6 years now....we were in the 14A USA USSSA National Championship game the year before last and finished in the top 5 in the 16A ASA final standings last year, so I doubt you have anything on us there 'genius coach"....I have seen teams using wristbands quite a few times (but its far in the minority) but didn't see one team in Cali using it in the 16A USA Nationals last year.....and if they did though, good for them....it's fine....I don't care, and good for the trend setters, maybe it gives you an advantage with those B teams you play, but it wouldn't give you an advantage against any team worth there salt there super coach, by and nor does changing conventional signs every few innings either....my point was teams having to use wristbands to defense other teams and parents from cheating and trying to influence a game that they are not part of and just letting a kid decide for themselves what pitch and location is coming....that's it.

and "hearsey" and "spread rumors much?" what hell are you even talking about....?
