DD’s college team was playing Sunday. 1-1 tie at the end of regulation.
We’re the away team, score a run and the home team comes to bat.
A passed ball moves the runner on 2nd to 3rd. Batter hits a loooong fly ball to deep center (my kid) and it looks like she’s never going to get there in time. Runner on third (and the third base coach) think there’s no way it’s getting caught so the runner breaks for home and crosses the plate.
I’m still not sure how she did it but C jumped backwards and snags the ball, flips in the air and throws it to third for the double play.
As the team is in line to shake hands the runner from 3rd is heard saying to my kid “there’s no way anyone could have caught that ball, how did you do it?”
