Those are baseball. I would think they would be built differently. Are they not?
I use a Yadiar Molina model catchers mitt to catch for my daughter. It has much better padding than any fastpitch mitt, and as long as you break it in with a softball, it works great. There are far more choices available for baseball than for softball, so why wouldn't you at least look in that direction?

@ANNASDAD, it seems we might have a glove thread going on here.

I picked up this A2000 12.75" for DD for the upcoming travel summer season. She's an 18U 1B/OF. I have found some fantastic deals on Facebook Marketplace for both gloves and bats.

That still looks very small comparted to what I see college OFs use

Honestly, I just assumed pocket size would prevent that possibility. Consider me educated.
Nope, it's all about how you break it in. Don't use the mallets they sell for breaking in a glove as they are designed for a baseball pocket. Some of us here have come up with some alternative ideas on how to make your own mallet for a softball glove.

How do all these college OFs on TV have such huge A2000 gloves, but I can never find anything bigger than 12.5". What are they using??? Does Wilson make larger A2000s for colleges that they don't sell to the public?
If you're wanting to stay with a A2000 for outfield, I'd look at something like this OT6 Six-Finger Trap and wear it two-in-the-pinky (TIP).
