Mom, thank you for sharing and your update. Doug's reply is a HR but wanted to share a couple of quick thoughts:

1. Expectations can either be for performance, passion/work ethic, focus, or her mental state. I believe it is the athlete's responsibility to manage all of those and the coach's job to challenge them. Parent's are there to enjoy and support those - for better or for worse.
2. Get EXPERT coaching help. Way too many amatuers charging people money for advise. True pro's have a strong track record at the highest levels of our game.
3. Pauly is right. The RC and Ferris Wheels never end. Just follow the careers of some professional athletes and use them as examples/teaching moments.
4. IMHO pitching is the hardest position for an athlete until they hit college. B/c most will have to hit, field, and pitch which requires an enormous amount of practice/committment. With the sport becoming 10-12 months a year...

So hang on and - let go. Because its all about her anyway.
