This (bold) has me a little confused 'palm up with top hand, barrel in the zone and out quick. Doesn't sound like how I would picture 'extension'.

Getting to extension has nothing to do with 'timing'.....

Timing is definitely a factor in arriving at extension.

Don't confuse a swing-and-miss as an issue that is 100% timing related.

Correct ... the inhibition of the palm/forearm rolling over ... pronating ... will inhibit extension.
