I never said she quit. She was upset, remember these girls are only 8-9. She finished catching the game and was ready for her chance to get out to bat. I know "there's no crying in softball" but it's the only time I have seen her this upset
We have a couple of girls (including my DD and both our pitchers) who end up in tears when they don't excel. They expect a lot of themselves, and are still learning how to deal with their emotions when they fail. In general, I don't have a problem with it at the 8U level. It shows they care, are trying their hardest, and are competitors at heart. Teaching them to let it go so they can move on to the next thing is one of the lessons to be learned at this level.
