A lot of good discussion here. That being said:
Parents should really work on their golf clap and limiting comments to "yay team".
Sports officials should really work on worrying less about what is going on outside the lines.
Everyone would be better off.
Saw an old coot basketball ref throw a guy out of a middle school bb game last winter after running up and down the court staring at the guy in the stands instead of watching the live play. Guy was the teams school bus driver, nice guy, not obnoxious and I had not noticed him until the ref did. It was weird. It was also MIDDLE SCHOOL. Not exactly the highest level of play and far from the raucous environment of hs basketball.
