USSSA Bat Inspection after at bat by coach

I coach 12U. It has never once occurred to me to inspect the other teams bats. Not my job. Plus, they're 11 years old!! Just play the game coach. Or better yet, get back in the stands and stop putting yourself at the forefront.

Was his question based around speculation the bat was legally altered perhaps as in shaved?

That has become a problem in Fastpitch. Question is with no visible alterations how can anyone catch it?

Had a ball come off a bat so hard that the girl that caught it broke her hand. I questioned why the entire team was sharing that same bat the whole game and how is it physically possible a 90lb girl can hit harder than me. problem is theres no way to prove it even with an injury and a UIC present.

It was all speculation on my part.
