Never said it wasn't part of the swing. All of 'our' terms are made up terms in the make believe world of DFP, BBF & BBD.The float (another made up term) is part of the swing.

For my DD the elbow is not slotted. DD's swing 'slots' the elbow. Your DD's elbow may not be 'slotted' by her swing.
I don't see it as 'flattening before barrel is launched rearward'.there appears to be a very slight barrel flattening before the barrel is launched rearward.
Thanks. I didn't think the command drill would start from elbow slot, but was responding DRDRODD's conjecture that the command drill would begin at the place where the GIF in the original post was ending. Which is post-slot.
I'm kinda stuck at the whole issue of barrel-flattening. My DD does it prematurely and excessively. But, to adjust to pitch height, there might be some barrel flattening necessary.
So does the command drill begin (''go'') at the point at which that any slight barrel flattening has occurred? In the GIF in the original post, there appears to be a very slight barrel flattening before the barrel is launched rearward. Is that fair to say? And it is after this slight flattening that ''go'' occurs?
You see? He hadn't "WHIPPED" anything at that point. But based on the read of the pitch, his hands knew instinctively how to get the body into position to best address each pitch. Do you see how he gets his hands above the ball in the one VS getting the handle down to the other
That would mean you start the command drill w/ the elbow essentially slotted, right? That's where the batter is at the end of the gif.
Also, this is not the point at which the hitter is fully stretched. So yeah, I'm confused.
I was referencing the Bonds clip not Correa.
For some reason my laptop didn't show the Correa clip so I thought we were discussing the Bonds clip RD posted about float
If You Don't Want To Flatten Then(and) Swing.....
maybe you'll think about swinging then(and) flattening.
OK, my bad. That makes more sense!
