Trading pins for Nationals...how many?

Coach wants to order trading pins for ASA Northern Nationals or PGF Regional 14u team

Question #1: Do they do pin trading at PGF Regionals?

Question #2: How many pins per girl? Coach wants to order 1000, so around 80 pins per girl for $110

It's a small expense considering how much we spend all year, but I don't want to get stuck with 50 extra 2016 pins.

We've been ok with 25-50 per girl. Id think 80 would be excessive at 14u. Just my opinion though...daughter is 2nd year 12u.

For ASA Northerns, you can find team lists from prior years here: ASA Prior Champions.

If that history is a good measure, CatchTheFever appears to be on the mark with 25-50.

We have found 40 was about the sweet spot. The girls could easily trade that many and still had enough for everyone.

Don't forget to get hand towels embroidered.... I agree with about 40 per player.
It will ultimately come down to the number of teams in your bracket. Most of the trading occurs during a parade. Figure on trading one pin per team entered

Didn't see anyone trading pins at ASA 14U Nationals last summer during opening ceremonies. More of a 12U and below trend. DDs are still in a ziplock bag from her younger days at USFA World Series.

I found that 25 to 40 was good. Last year we hit the 30 mark and it was pushing it a bit. But each tourney and group is different. Just my Buck 45.

The towel is a great idea. We did that twice and then a mom from the team that did embroidery created something to hang them on. The top square is a stiff fabric that's embroidered with the team name, year, and event. She ran for pieces of team color ribbon off of it to hold the pins. They actually look good hanging on the wall.

DDS 14U has lost interest in pin trading. I'd say 20/25 max each if the girls still want to trade. DD came home with her bag of untraded pins because there wasn't open trading at opening ceremonies. Totaly bust. I'm not sure if they'll buy pins or not this season.
