Suprising toughness from DD

We had our first game of the season tonight. DD was the starting pitcher. The third batter drilled one off her shin. I thought for sure she was done for the day, but she walked it off and pitched three innings. She struck out 4 and walked a few too many. She also had a good day at the plate, reaching base all three times up, including a couple of solid hits.

Several parents commented about how tough she was, and that's something I would never have said about her before. It was really great to see her fight through it, and really cool to hear the compliments from the other parents.
