Steel cleats at what age?

I didnt want to hijack another thread,but at what age can they start wearing steel cleats in the different abc orgs.? They can wear them in HS,but was not sure about the others?

LOL, NJ won't let girls in HS wear metal cleats but boys can.

Pony lets girls wear them at 14U so DD is getting a pair to practice in and see if she likes them.

2012 Changes to the pony rules

Page 24 Equipment - Shoes
Rule 3 Sec 8 Changed to read: Metal cleat shoes, plastic or hard polyurethane spikes similar to metal
cleat shoes are allowed in all play in Pony 14U and above
. Alteration of metal cleats, such as
sharpening, which might make them dangerous to participants,
is specifically prohibited. Rubber soled or rubber cleat shoes are permitted in all levels of
play.

16U & 18U TB and HS ball are allowed to wear spikes. This year USFA allows them at 14U, but I believe they are the only sanction that does.

USSSA, USFA, and Pony allow metal in the 14u age bracket. ASA does not

USSSA Rule 2 Equipment:

Sec 4. SHOES
Shoes are required equipment for all participants. All players must wear shoes
with plastic, nylon, canvas, leather or similar synthetic material uppers.
Spikes must not extend in excess of 3/4 -inch from the sole and may not be
round.
A. (Youth) The sole may be smooth, have soft or hard rubber cleats. Shoe
sole or heel protectors other than the standard shoe plate are prohibited.
In all divisions 14 and under and younger, Metal cleats and metal toe
plates are prohibited.

PENALTY: In divisions which do not allow metal cleats and toe plates,
Metal cleats results in the offender being ejected. Metal toe plates must
be removed prior to continuing play.
