From what I have read the top drill was performed at Baseball Rebellion and it is called the hesitation drill. You can find video of some of their students performing it. From what I understand about the drill it is just to keep the stretch when getting fooled on an off speed pitch. I also read that it was modeled after Griffey Jr. When he would pause/hesitate after foot plant on some off speed pitches.
Its "all back" loading but the hips fire first IMO, and that is where the separation is happening. Not all back together, all forward together. The foot goes down and the hands are still back. That is not all back, all forward.
The drill isnt focusing on it but he still has hips/core firing first.
just for conversation sake, front leg is reaching out creating some stretch. What happened to sequence? whip? what is the drill he is doing? what is the purpose? front foot hands separation?
i see it as front side scrunch, then rear scrunch.
